  14. Yes it's because you have an old datatype, namely the picture.datatype
  15. (the parent datatype for all image formats), that doesn't know about more
  16. than 256 color.
  17. So, get the latest picture.datatype from aminet (there was a new version
  18. posted recently). This archive also includes jpeg and some other datatypes
  19. that know about 24 bit color.
